Methane Analyst

Chandler Billinghurst is a Methane Analyst with Highwood Emissions Management. He is also an undergraduate Geography (B.A.) student at the University of Calgary and is working with Highwood as a member of the ECO Canada Student Co-op Program. Chandler has 2 years of experience as a researcher within the Geography department at the University of Calgary and has contributed to published work tackling urban methane emissions, as well as methane leak detection and repair methods. He is also currently a Master’s of Science applicant in the University of Calgary Geography program and hopes to continue his work within the methane field at the graduate level.

Chandler has strong interests in geographic information systems (GIS) technologies, programming, natural resource certification and sustainability practices within the oil and gas industry. The ECO Canada Co-op Program paired with a placement at Highwood presents a unique opportunity to put learned skills into practice and gain valuable work experience in an environment outside of the classroom.

Chandler is an avid hockey fan and an ex-player of 15 years. In his spare time, he volunteers as a goaltending coach and tries to get on the ice as much as possible. He also spends time golfing, hiking, and playing live music at venues around western Canada.
