As an Product Owner, your mission is to help our deliver our product vision by working with potential and existing clients to rigorously find out challenges, wants, and needs to navigate effective decision making in the emissions management space. Reporting to Highwood’s Director of Technology, here’s what you’ll accomplish in your first 180 days of work:

  • Confirm and update the product roadmap
  • Apply a scientific approach to client discovery by understanding the small pain points and getting them right
  • Translate customer needs into software requirements
  • Understand the competitive landscape, learn, and design appropriately to ensure product differentiation
  • Collaborate and support Highwood’s other consulting groups and emissions management software team where required
  • Develop user stories to understand address pain points
  • Manage and give visibility to the product backlog for future product development
  • Manage the queries from the development team on how to implement a product feature, in rigorous pursuit of customer pain points
  • Ensure visibility of the product next phases

Here are some of the things we’re looking for. Note that we don’t expect you to have all of these qualifications, experiences, and/or skills. We often choose to train someone with the right attitude over hiring the wrong person with the right skills.

  • Software or Computer Science Degree with 5-10 years related experience
  • Experience product ownership and management
  • Experience in product design or product development
  • Experience in launching a software as a service as a service (SaaS) company
  • Experience analyzing complex datasets and interpreting results
  • Experience in summarizing technical information and compiling reports. Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Creative and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Driven to work hard and thrives on making a difference
  • Ability to manage time and projects effectively with competing priorities
  • Collaborative, professional, positive attitude, and attention to detail
