New GoA funding announced for methane reduction technologies

This week, the Government of Alberta announced two exciting new programs for reducing methane emissions. Contact Highwood for help navigating these new opportunities. We can maximize your share of this funding while considering your unique inventory, goals, and budget.

1. Methane Technology Implementation Program (MTIP)

  • Funding to cover the costs of a broad range of methane reduction technologies

  • $25M is available from the TIER fund, up to $1M per producer, up to 50% of costs

  • Alberta facilities are eligible if regulated under Section 8 of D60 but not TIER

2. Industrial Energy Efficiency, Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage Grant Program

  • Funding to cover improvements made to TIER-regulated facilities

  • $80M is available from the TIER fund, up to $20M per project, up to 75% of costs

  • Only Alberta TIER-regulated facilities and emissions are eligible
