Your Mission

Reducing GHG emissions from the oil and natural gas industry is one of the single greatest short-term impacts that we can make towards decarbonizing our economy. Incentivizing the production, transportation, and end use of low-carbon energy is critical. Highwood supports clients across the natural gas supply chain with comprehensive methane emissions measurement and management, helping them to implement voluntary emissions reduction initiatives, advise on and assist with methane emissions reconciliation and uncertainty, assess measurement technologies and mitigation strategies, and help prepare companies for the regulatory future.

We are looking for a seasoned consultant to join our team.  You will be responsible for managing complex projects, setting direction and driving new business. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment, have strong leadership and organizational skills, and be able to think creatively as we work on the cutting edge of the evolving methane emissions reduction landscape.

 

You are…

  • A proven professional with deep technical experience in emissions measurement and management and experience in consulting.
  • Experienced in:
    • voluntary initiatives including MiQ implementation, OGMP materiality assessments, and Veritas.
    • analyzing and understanding various measurement technologies including designing measurement strategies
    • understanding emissions mitigation strategies including development of marginal abatement cost curves
    • dealing with complex data sets from various field operations, measurement campaigns, and bottom up inventories, ideally to inform measurement informed inventories
    • reporting greenhouse gas emissions to regulatory bodies or sustainability reports including deep understanding of emissions quantification
  • Have an established network in the emissions industry, with an extensive network that extends across the natural gas supply chain, including regulators.
  • Highly motivated, with a strong capacity to learn quickly and adapt to change and new challenges.
  • A strategic, thoughtful and supportive leader, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • An excellent communicator who can translate highly technical information into clear, concise language suitable for the business environment.
  • An intuitive, adept client manager who thrives on defining and solving client challenges.
  • An expert project manager with experience working on projects of varying scale and scope.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality solutions to our clients: define project scope, objectives and methodologies, manage project teams, budget, timelines and deliverables and, effectively manage issues or conflicts that may arise during project execution.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, negotiate proposals, assist with contract negotiations and development.
  • Develop and maintain long-term productive client relationships focused on retention and reengagement.
  • Leverage consulting relationships to support software and web-based solutions sales; support those customers with value-added consulting.
  • Contribute to Highwood’s overall (including consulting services) strategy and planning, with a focus on growth.
  • Mentor junior staff and direct their contributions to managed projects.
  • Contribute to Highwood’s knowledge, education and communications initiatives.
  • Collaborate and support Highwood’s other consulting projects and emissions management software team where required

 

Requirements

These are our critical qualifications, experiences, and skills for this role.  We are looking for someone with significant technical, consulting and leadership expertise who can immediately contribute to Highwood’s near-term targets and generate expected results.

  • 10+ years of experience and a strong reputation in oil and gas emissions management.
  • 5+ years in a senior consulting role, including leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrated business development acumen.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and delivering diverse projects for clients.
  • Familiarity/expertise with certified gas and carbon accounting and reporting.
  • Experience analyzing complex datasets and interpreting results.
  • Expertise in summarizing technical information and compiling reports.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Creative and entrepreneurial mindset, help to develop and grow in a new market.
  • Collaborative and professional team player with a positive attitude.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative
  • Strategic thinker.
  • Ability to manage time and projects effectively with competing priorities.
