We pride ourselves on having a strong culture of respect, fun, continuous learning, and hard work. Working at Highwood is not easy – but it can be incredibly rewarding. Join us as we endeavor to overcome some of the world’s biggest challenges and help mitigate the impacts of climate change. Highwood Emissions Management (Highwood) is an equal opportunity employer working to enable diversity in the workforce. We welcome all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status. We also value diversity of worldview, experience, and perspective.

Your Mission

Reducing GHG emissions from the oil and natural gas industry is one of the single greatest short-term impacts that we can make towards decarbonizing our economy. Incentivizing the production, transportation, and end use of low-carbon energy is critical. Highwood is looking to expand its team and is currently seeking to fill the role of Head of Business Development.

Highwood is building our Emission Intelligence Platform (EIP), which allows customers to understand their emissions in new and valuable ways. We are progressing towards MVP and will be establishing EIP as a SaaS product this year.

It is an exciting growth opportunity, where you will use your sales acumen to initially close on existing pipeline and then use that experience to build a highly effective sales organization to address the global market for this SaaS product(s) and solutions.

We are looking for someone with strong sales skills along with experience in selling software to large Oil & Gas operators. Large enterprise selling experience is a requirement in this role. A successful candidate will develop relationships at the highest levels in Sustainability departments in these companies to navigate complex sales. You will report to the CEO.

Expectations:

  • Early Market Entry and Expansion: Lead the company’s software solutions into oil and gas environments, identifying growth opportunities and forming strategic alliances to establish a robust market presence.
  • Solution Development and Pitching: Craft and refine pitches to effectively convey the value proposition of our offerings.
  • Consultative Selling Approach: Employ a consultative sales approach, understanding oil and gas’ unique challenges and goals, and positioning our software as integral to their growth and success.
  • Deal Structuring and Negotiation: Negotiate mutually beneficial software deals with ideal customers, ensuring agreements that foster long-term partnerships and revenue growth.
  • Product Knowledge and Adaptation: Maintain expertise in our software products, adapting them to meet the evolving needs of clients in dynamic environments.
  • Sales Strategy Formulation: Develop and implement sales strategies tailored for Highwood’s stage, employing agile methodologies to penetrate new markets and secure initial deals.
  • Relationship Building and Networking: Cultivate relationships within oil and gas senior leadership teams, collaborating with c-suites, economic buyers, and others to generate leads and drive software sales.
  • Customer Success and Retention: Ensure successful onboarding and adoption of our software by clients, providing ongoing support to maximize value realization and foster loyalty.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Stay informed on industry trends, leveraging market feedback to collaborate with the product team on enhancements and innovations that maintain our competitive edge.
  • Sales process management: Own a pipeline of opportunities and the management and optimization of internal sales process. This includes CRM use,  the handoff from marketing, and to account management.
