Around the World, Leaders Commit to Slash GHG Emissions
New promises to reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions were announced by countries around the world, including the United States, Japan, Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom. In particular:

Salesforce and Apple Call for Mandatory Auditable Emissions Disclosure
Salesforce joins a growing number of companies (including Apple last week) in demanding mandatory disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions and goals in the United States. They are calling for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to require disclosure of Scopes 1, 2, & 3 emissions. Read more here.
Exxon Announces Massive Carbon Capture Project
ExxonMobil is proposing a $100 billion carbon capture project that it claims will store 100 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year beneath the Gulf of Mexico (How Much Gas is That?!) The project requires public financing and would not be fully operational until 2040. Read more here.
